How long have you been doing what you do and how did you become a mind-body fitness coach? 

About Dionne

 

I am a mind and body fitness coach that helps time-crunched business women look and feel 10 years younger so they can stay at their best and make the big difference they want to see in the world, and I want to share with you a defining moment in my life about how this came to be.

  

In 2007, when I was working on trying to figure out my own health and become my own health detective, which took years of trials and tribulations and to figure out what foods and activities worked for me and what didn’t. 

 

It took my hair falling out and me becoming severely dehydrated for me to realize I needed to change my eating habits and movement patterns to take my health into my own hands.

 

At the time, I really wanted to heal myself and stop my hair from falling out. I was also looking for the most natural way to age beautifully and gracefully. I believe that this desire came from a specific incident when I was a teenager that didn’t make me feel beautiful during that particular time. Also, since I was a kid I have let “food” dictate my life. I wanted to be in control of what I put in my mouth and not let my addictions and bad habits control me. 

 

I had a major sugar addiction. It started as early as 5 years old when I stole a piece of chocolate peppermint candy from 711. I was obsessed with how sugar tasted. Of course, not knowing I had a problem at a young age, but it carried on to middle school where I’d eat 3-4 white sprinkled donuts a day. When I got to high school, I would throw away my lunch and resort to giant chocolate cookies and pizza. I had a severe problem with sugar and carbs for the first half of my life.  

I struggled with the fact that I couldn't concentrate in school because I was consuming a high amount of processed foods daily and I somehow knew that this was adding even more stress in addition to the high amount of school work I had to do. To make matters worse, I feared not fitting in with the other kids because I knew I was different. I also felt guilty because my parents didn't think I was sneaking snacks and spitting out my dinner when no one was looking.

 

When my hair started falling out, I knew it was because I wasn't taking excellent care of myself. My early years of bad habits had finally caught up with me. It was time for a change once and for all. Like any addict, giving up junk food was an extremely daunting process.

 

As I started drinking more water, I had to urinate every two minutes or so 10 times a night because my body was severely dehydrated and it had so much sugar and toxins that my body was now retaining water like never before. Nights were extremely uncomfortable since I couldn't sleep. I had to pee so much during the day and night. I felt I wanted to urinate on myself plenty of times on the bus on my way to work. My diet was almost unbearable and I didn't know if I could get through it. It was really hard to change my ways at such an early age, but I knew it needed to be done.

 

I started changing the way I was eating by now bringing my lunches to work. I was more in control of my body and health for the first time ever without anyone telling me what to do. And I believed I was being a good example for myself and also for my son. As a result, I leaned out and I started to look and feel younger. My hair stopped falling out and my skin looks more vibrant than ever.

 

So, I sat down and wrote a plan of all the things that worked for me on my own journey and that was when the Reverse, Revive and Realign Program was born.

 

This program consists of learning how to reverse aging by reconnecting with your body in 3 steps.

 

REVERSE

 

There are many things in life that aren't within our control. But, I will give you the tools to empower you to finally be in control of your mind and body so you can sustain your fitness and well-being for years to come.

 

 

REVIVE

 

You are unique. Therefore, the foods that energize you and make you come alive are going to be unique to you. I'll customize your food choices and eating schedule so you can have the energy and focus on accomplishing all the great things you want to do in your life and business. 

 

 

REALIGN

 

Beyond strength training, I will show you movements and activities that heal your body, mind, and soul so you can do simple tasks like sitting at your desk without back pain or going up a set of stairs without feeling winded all the way to playing with your kids and grandkids and enjoying it fully because you are energized.

 

 

Finally, I have now been able to work with many women and the results they report back to me have been so rewarding to hear.

    I joined this gym and found out about Dionne's Belly Fat Blast Challenge. It was the best investment I made to join. I was able to return to my pre-pregnancy weight after my first pregnancy. 

     

    For my second pregnancy, I gained a lot of weight early on, so I re-joined another Belly Fat Blast Challenge online due to the pandemic to control my weight gain during the pregnancy. Again, it turned out to be a great decision.

     Dionne is great at what she does. She knows a lot about teaching people how to eat healthily and she provided a lot of cardio workouts you can do in the comfort of your own home. I lost 10lbs in 28 days. If I had done all the working out required in the 28 days, I know I would've lost more weight and gotten more toned.

     

    She provided daily instructions and check-in instructions, which were instrumental in keeping me motivated and accountable. I appreciate her style of training so much and got great results in the process.

How quickly can I expect results?

That depends on how quickly you can make those inner shifts. Some clients are ready to go and make immediate lifestyle changes in a very short time frame, sometimes even a few weeks, while others have a bit more work to do first. It also depends on stress levels, mindset and lifestyle situations that might slow down your results. Once you’re able to make those minor adjustments that may be hindering you from reaching your goals, you’re going to start seeing magnificent changes in your physique. It all starts with changing your mindset first and then the rest is magic.
